Auburn Electric feedthroughs

Are products that provide conduction of electric current between two separate spaces. Equipment and instruments which are located in sealed vessels which, for example hold an aggressive substance may need some kind of power supply.

An electrical feedthrough can provide a secure electrical connection through the wall of a vessel. The penetration / feed-through is made (similar to a spark plug) from a conducting core in a ceramic housing. The robust seal is resistant to high pressures and temperatures. Auburn electrical feedthroughs are used in a wide range of industrial applications. Examples of this are high-voltage transformers, transmissions, hermetically sealed compressors and motors.

Models and Features

  • Some electric feedthroughs are capable of handling high currents up to 750 A and flash over protection (insulation) of up to 10kV.
  • The conductor is available in copper, brass or Kovar
  • Most feedthroughs are suitable for ambient temperatures of about 100°C
  • Certain models can withstand temperatures up to 315°C
  • Models can withstand pressures up to 170 bar when applied in combination with the specified maximum temperatures.
